Jorge Páez is a retired Mexican professional boxer who has made quite an impact in the sport during his 19-year career. He debuted in the boxing arena on November 16, 1984, with a 3rd round TKO victory against Efren Tineo at the age of 19. This marked the beginning of an illustrious career in boxing that spanned almost two decades.

Throughout his career, Páez participated in a total of 98 fights, out of which he won 79, lost 14, and had five draws. He achieved a remarkable 52 knockout wins, which speaks volumes about his punching power. Although he never had a no-contest during his career, he suffered six knockout losses.

Páez was a force to reckon with in the ring, which was evident with his three world title victories at two weight classes. He won his first world title on August 4, 1988, after defeating Calvin Grove, via 15 round majority decision, to become the featherweight IBF champion. He successfully defended his title once in 1989 against Jose Mario Lopez, winning via 2nd round KO. Páez's rise to the top of the featherweight division was nothing short of extraordinary.

Páez is known for giving some of the most notable and best boxing performances during his career. He had several high-profile victories, including wins against Hall-of-Famers Tom Johnson and Lupe Gutierrez, Jose Mario Lopez, Verdell Smith, Roger Bonine, Brian Brown, and Alberto Castro. His resume speaks volumes about the caliber of his fighting skills.

However, no career is perfect, and Páez had his losses, with a total of 14 in his career. Out of these losses, five were in title bouts, while nine were in non-title bouts. The first time Páez tasted defeat was against Salomon Villavicencio on April 16, 1985, via four-round PTS. Despite his setbacks, Páez remained a respected fighter in the boxing community due to his exceptional fighting spirit and performances.

Jorge Páez was a formidable fighter in his prime, and his career has cemented his legacy as one of the most potent boxers in the sport. Although his career ended on December 5, 2003, with a non-title bout victory against Scott McCracken via 10 round split-decision, his contributions to the sport are still fondly remembered by boxing aficionados.

Páez's boxing career perfectly embodies the three pillars of expertise, authoritativeness, and trustworthiness. His 79 victories speak to his exceptional talent and deep understanding of boxing. Additionally, as a three-time world champion, he commanded respect and admiration in the boxing community. Lastly, his sportsmanlike conduct in and out of the ring earned him the trust and admiration of his fans, trainers, and peers.

Even though he has retired from the sport, his boxing career and performance continue to inspire the younger generations of boxers worldwide.
