Adam Richards, born on November 26, 1980, was a professional boxer who made his debut on March 17, 2001, at the age of 20. He retired from boxing in 2010 with a record of 23-3, which included 15 KO wins and 3 losses via KO. Richards was a Cruiserweight and Heavyweight boxer who stood at 6 feet 2 inches (188 cm), with an Orthodox stance. He was also nicknamed The Swamp Donkey.

Before turning pro, Adam Richards had an impressive amateur career. He amassed an amateur record of 72-7 (41 KOs). He was a Silver Gloves national champion twice, a Golden Gloves champion, and a Junior Olympic super heavyweight champion. Richards was also a junior world super heavyweight champion and a quarterfinalist in the 2000 Olympic trials.

Richards had a successful professional career. He won his first two pro-fights, but he suffered a loss in his third fight. After that, he had a winning streak of 19 wins, with victories over Willie Palms, Billy Willis, Maurice Wheeler, and Charles Davis.

However, his winning streak was interrupted when he faced heavyweight prospect Chazz Witherspoon. In November 2008, the two boxers met in Nashville, and the fight ended with Richards' defeat via TKO in the eighth round, breaking his winning streak of 19 fights.

Richards had his first world title fight at the age of 29 on March 13, 2010, after 25 professional fights. He fought against Marco Huck for the WBO title. Unfortunately, he lost to Huck via a 3rd round KO. It was Adam's first loss in a world title fight, which he suffered after fighting for over eight years.

Aside from his world-title fight loss, Richards recorded two other losses in non-title bouts, all of which came via knockout. One of the losses was against Kevin Petty via a 3rd round TKO on June 17, 2001.

Adam Richards' last professional fight was on March 13, 2010, against Huck for Huck's cruiserweight WBO title. Richards lost the fight via a 3rd round KO. It's been over ten years since this fight took place.

Despite Richards' boxing career coming to an end, his success and accomplishments within the sport are worth talking about. For instance, he held the national amateur championship four times and co-held the record of winning two consecutive Junior Olympic heavyweight titles by knocking out every opponent with Mike Tyson.

Through his boxing career, Richards proved himself to be a skilled fighter despite the setbacks he encountered. He may have retired with a few losses, but his resilience, determination, and passion as a boxer continue to inspire up-and-coming fighters to this day.
