Bud Taylor was a professional boxer who had an illustrious career spanning over a decade from 1920 to 1931. During his career, he fought in a total of 164 fights, winning 115, losing 33, drawing 16 with no-contests. Taylor's total KO wins amounted to 37 with 4 losses via KO. Additionally, he won the NBA bantamweight title once with no title defenses.

Taylor made his professional debut at the young age of 16 on January 25, 1920, against Dave Templeton. Although he won the fight through a 3-round PTS, he went on to win 9 consecutive fights, with 7 of them coming by way of stoppage. His first loss came on November 8, 1920, against Whitey Morrett via 6-round NWS.

After 115 professional fights, Taylor got his first world title shot on March 26, 1927, at the age of 23. He faced Tony Canzoneri for the NBA (vacant) title, and the fight ended in an undefined draw. He got another shot at the same title against the same opponent on June 27, 1927, and this time around, he seized the opportunity to win his only world title to date. Taylor won the title against Canzoneri by beating him through a 10-round unanimous decision.

Throughout his career, Taylor fought against four Hall-of-Famers, Tommy Ryan, Pancho Villa, Jimmy McLarnin, and Tony Canzoneri, as well as many other notable fighters such as Midget Smith, Chick Suggs, Johnny Kaiser, Bobby Hughes, and Jackie Johnston.

Bud Taylor had a total of 33 losses in his professional career, with all of them coming in non-title bouts. Most of his losses were through the judges' decisions, with 29 of them being so. Although he lost four bouts via KO, he never lost in any of his title fights. Interestingly, Taylor's last professional fight was a non-title bout against Lew Massey, where he lost through an 8-round DQ at the age of 27 on March 16, 1931.

Taylor's record of 115-33-16 over a career spanning more than 11 years is impressive. Throughout his fighting career, he proved to be a reliable fighter with a unique style and considered one of the top bantamweights in history. His contributions to the sport earned him induction into the International Boxing Hall of Fame (IBHOF) in 2005.

In summary, Bud Taylor's professional boxing record is one worth remembering. With his impressive 115 wins, 33 losses, 16 draws, and 37 KO victories, it's no surprise that he held the NBA bantamweight title for some time. It's astounding that he fought in as many as 164 fights in his career, making him one of the most active boxers of his time. His legacy still lives on, and historians still talk of his contributions to the sport in the 1920s-1930s.
