Carlos Castro, a 28-year-old super bantamweight boxer from Phoenix, Arizona, has been making waves in the boxing world with his impressive record. Having had a total of 29 fights in his professional boxing career, Castro has won 27 of them, lost two, had no draws or no-contests, and 13 of his victories came via knockout.
Castro made his professional debut against Tony Green at the young age of 18 on June 16, 2012. It was a four-round unanimous decision victory for Castro, marking the beginning of his successful boxing career. He continued to dominate the ring by winning 26 more consecutive fights, including 13 by stoppage, which cemented his name in boxing history.
Throughout his career, Castro has proven his mettle by defeating some of the best boxers, including Jesus Ruiz, Óscar Escandón, Cesar Juarez, Genesis Servania, Juan Palacios, Germán Meraz, and Daniel Lozano. These victories showcased his exceptional speed, power, and ring intelligence.
However, Castro's unbeaten record suffered a blow when he faced Luis Nery in a 10-round split decision on February 5, 2022. This marked the end of his 27-fight win streak. His second loss came in a non-title bout against fellow American boxer Brandon Figueroa on July 9, 2022. Castro lost the fight via a 6th round TKO, which marked his second consecutive loss.
It's important to note that both of Castro's defeats have occurred in non-title fights, and he is yet to win a title. He has had no total title wins or title defences, and zero KO wins in title fights. These defeats, however, have only fueled his motivation to return to the ring with even more determination and bring home a title.
Castro's record shows that he has been stopped once and lost once via decision. Despite his losses, he remains one of the best super bantamweights in the division and has the potential to be a future champion.
On July 9, 2022, when Castro faced Brandon Figueroa, he sustained a cut under his left eye in the 4th round that affected his vision. Nonetheless, he continued to fight bravely in the subsequent rounds. However, by the 6th round, Figueroa had landed several powerful and precise blows that led to the referee stopping the fight, thus ending Castro's night in disappointment.
It's been eight months and 22 days since the fight against Figueroa, and Castro has been training relentlessly to prepare for his comeback. He is determined to make a statement and show the world what he is capable of.
Carlos Castro has proved his worth in the ring, and his record speaks volumes about his boxing abilities. His next fight is highly anticipated by his fans and the boxing community in general. It remains to be seen what the future holds for this talented fighter, but one thing is for sure - he is here to stay and is not giving up any time soon.
