David Haye is a retired British boxer who had a successful professional career spanning more than 15 years. He had a total of 32 fights, out of which he won 28, and suffered four losses. He didn't have any draws or no-contests throughout his career. The heavyweight boxer was known for his impressive knockout rate, having 26 knockout wins in total.
Haye's professional boxing career kicked off on December 8, 2002, at the age of 22, in a fight against Tony Booth. He won the fight via a 2nd round RTD. He went on to win his next nine fights, all via stoppage, showcasing his devastating punching power.
The British boxer had his first world title fight at the age of 27 on November 10, 2007, after winning 20 professional fights. He fought against Jean-Marc Mormeck for the cruiserweight WBA (Unified), WBC, and The Ring titles, and won the fight via 7th round TKO to become the cruiserweight champion of the world. This victory marked the beginning of what would be an illustrious career, which Haye would go on to dominate for several years.
One of Haye's career highlights happened on March 8, 2008, when he became a unified cruiserweight world champion by beating Enzo Maccarinelli via a 2nd round TKO. He held the WBA (Undisputed), WBC, The Ring, and WBO cruiserweight world-champion belts at this point. He then went on to defend his championship titles against Monte Barrett, which he won via 5th round TKO.
David Haye was a two-time unified cruiserweight world champion, and has won five world titles at two weight classes. He fought and won many notable fights during his career, and some of his best fights were victories over Enzo Maccarinelli, Jean-Marc Mormeck, Audley Harrison, Nikolai Valuev, Monte Barrett, John Ruiz, and Mark de Mori.
On November 7, 2009, Haye won the WBA heavyweight title from Nikolai Valuev, beating him via 12 round majority decision to become a two-division world champion. He then went on to successfully defend the WBA heavyweight title against Audley Harrison, winning the fight via 3rd round TKO.
The only loss David Haye suffered in a title bout was on July 2, 2011, against Wladimir Klitschko. He lost the fight to the Ukrainian boxer via a 12 round unanimous decision. Haye was fighting for the IBF, WBO, and The Ring heavyweight titles in that bout.
Haye retired from professional boxing with a record of 28-4, which included 26 knockout wins and three losses via knockout, as well as five title wins. His last professional fight was a non-title rematch against fellow British boxer Tony Bellew on May 5, 2018. Haye lost the fight via 5th round TKO.
