Frankie Gavin's professional boxing career spanned over nine years, from 2009 to 2018, with a total of 30 fights under his belt. Throughout his career, Gavin had 26 wins, four losses, no draws, and no-contests. He scored 15 KO victories, and unfortunately suffered three losses due to KO.
Gavin made his professional boxing debut at the age of 23 against George Kadaria on February 28, 2009. The match resulted in a 4th round TKO win for Gavin. After his debut, Gavin went on to win another 18 consecutive fights, 11 of which were stopped by his hand.
However, Gavin's first world title fight took place at the age of 29, after 23 fights, against Kell Brook for the IBF title. Unfortunately, Gavin lost to Brook via a 6th round TKO, marking his first career loss in professional boxing. Despite the defeat, Gavin continued to win several matches, including notable victories against Ivo Gogosevic, Felix Matamoros, Jason Welborn, Denton Vassell, David Barnes, Bradley Skeete, and Junior Witter.
It is important to note that while Gavin had four losses in his professional boxing career, one of them was a title fight loss, and the remaining three losses were non-title bouts, which unfortunately resulted in him being stopped three times and once via decision.
Gavin's final professional fight was against Spanish boxer Kerman Lejarraga on November 17, 2018, in a non-title bout. Unfortunately, he lost via a 4th round KO. As a result, Gavin retired from professional boxing with a record of 26-4, which included 15 knockout wins and three losses via knockout.
Despite Gavin's professional boxing career being short, it is worth noting his victories and achievements. He was the British welterweight champion and fought for the IBF World welterweight title. Though he may no longer be a professional boxer, his legacy and impact on the sport will undoubtedly be remembered.
