Héctor Camacho was a professional boxer whose career spanned over 29 years from 1980 to 2010. For someone who began his professional career at a tender age of 18, building a remarkable record can be pretty impressive. Camacho had a total of 88 fights, which included 79 wins, 6 losses, 3 draws, and no-contests. Out of his 79 wins, he won 38 of them via KO, which shows that he was a formidable puncher.

Camacho had his first world title fight at the age of 21 on August 7, 1983, after 21 professional encounters. He fought Rafael Limón for the super-featherweight WBC (vacant) title and defeated Limón via 5th round TKO to claim the world title. He won four world titles at three weight classes throughout his career. Camacho's world title wins and defenses are detailed in "Héctor Camacho World Titles."

Some of his notable victories came against iconic boxers like Roberto Durán, Sugar Ray Leonard, Ray Mancini, and Edwin Rosario. Additionally, Camacho had fantastic performances against Jose Luis Ramirez and Greg Haugen.

From his 88 fights, Camacho suffered six losses, four of which were in title bouts and two in non-title fights. Camacho's loss against Greg Haugen on February 23, 1991, ended his 38-fight win streak. It was evident that all his losses came via decisions, which shows that he had an excellent fighting spirit and was tough to beat. For details on his defeats, see "All of Héctor Camacho's losses."

In 2010, Camacho had his last professional fight against Saul Duran at age 47, losing the fight via 10 round unanimous decision. He was never stopped throughout his career as all the six losses came through decisions,  demonstrating he was not an easy nut to crack. In 2016, Hector was inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame (IBHOF) for his outstanding achievements.

Camacho's career highlights come from a total of eight fights. They include:

1. August 7, 1983: Camacho won his first world title by defeating Rafael Limón via 5th round TKO to emerge as the super-featherweight champion of the world.

2. August 10, 1985: Winning the WBC lightweight title was a significant achievement for Camacho, and he achieved it by beating Jose Luis Ramirez via 12 rounds unanimous decision.
