During his 20-year professional boxing career, Howard Eastman proved himself as a formidable opponent in the ring. In his 62 fights, Eastman managed to secure 49 victories, with an impressive 38 of those being knockout wins. While he never managed to win a title, his career highlights include victories over notable fighters such as Hacine Cherifi, Scott Dann, Richard Williams, Sergey Tatevosyan, Robert McCracken, and Steve Foster.
Eastman's professional boxing debut was in 1994 against John Rice, whom he defeated via 1st round TKO. From there, Eastman went on to secure 31 consecutive victories, including 28 via stoppage. His winning streak came to an end in 2001 when William Joppy defeated him via 12 round majority decision. This defeat marked the beginning of a series of losses for Eastman, all of which were in non-title bouts.
Despite his impressive record, the sole highlight of Howard Eastman's career is undoubtedly his 2005 fight against Bernard Hopkins. Going into the fight, Eastman had a record of 40-1 and was considered by many to be a potential world champion. However, Hopkins ultimately won the fight via 12th round unanimous decision.
