Jack Dempsey was one of the most prominent boxers of his time with a total of 73 professional fights, 58 of which he won. Out of his 58 wins, 43 were via knockout, and he had 9 draw decisions. Dempsey was only knocked out once during his professional career and only lost six fights via decision.

At the age of 19, Jack Dempsey had his professional boxing debut against Young Hancock, which he won via a 1st round knockout. He proceeded to win two consecutive fights after his debut, both via stoppage. Dempsey's first loss was against Jack Downey, which he lost via a 4th round points decision on April 5, 1915.

Dempsey made a total of 65 professional fights before being elevated to the heavyweight world NYSAC champion at the age of 25. His first title defense was against Billy Miske on September 6, 1920, which he won via a 3rd round knockout. Dempsey became a one-time unified heavyweight world champion on July 2, 1921, by defeating Georges Carpentier via a 4th round knockout. This win added the NYSAC and NBA heavyweight world-champion belts to his collection.

The fight against Luis Angel Firpo on September 14, 1923, was another significant career highlight for Dempsey. He successfully defended his NBA, NYSAC, and The Ring heavyweight titles by defeating Firpo via a 2nd round knockout. After a long professional career spanning over 12 years, Dempsey's last professional fight was on September 22, 1927, against fellow American boxer Gene Tunney for Tunney's heavyweight NBA, NYSAC, and The Ring titles. Dempsey lost the fight via 10 round unanimous decision.

Throughout his career, Dempsey had some notable victories against six Hall-of-Famers, including Jack Sharkey, Tommy Gibbons, Georges Carpentier, Billy Miske, Jess Willard, and Battling Levinsky. He also had wins against Luis Angel Firpo, Bill Brennan, Fred Fulton, Tom McCarty, and Fred Saddy.

Jack Dempsey retired from professional boxing with a record of 58-6-9, which includes 43 knockout wins and one loss via knockout, as well as one title win. Dempsey demonstrated expertise and authoritativeness in the ring, which earned him recognition from the International Boxing Hall of Fame in 1992.
