DeGale defeated Andre Dirrell for the super-middleweight IBF (vacant) title via 12 round unanimous decision to become the super-middleweight champion of the world.
DeGale successfully defended the IBF super-middleweight title twice between 2015 and 2018. He defended against Lucian Bute, winning the fight via 12 round unanimous decision on November 28, 2015, and then against Caleb Truax, beating Truax via 12 round unanimous decision on April 7, 2018, to reclaim the IBF super-middleweight title.
Some of DeGale's best fights and notable victories include wins over Lucian Bute, Caleb Truax, Fidel Muñoz, Rogelio Medina, Andre Dirrell, Marco Antonio Peribán, and Stjepan Božić. DeGale lost three times in his professional boxing career, one of them in a title bout and two in non-title bouts. He suffered his first loss against George Groves via 12 round majority decision in a British super-middleweight title bout on May 21, 2011.
Despite his three losses, DeGale has never been knocked out in a fight. He retired from professional boxing with a record of 25-3-1, which included 15 knockout wins and two title wins. His last professional fight was a non-title bout against fellow British boxer Chris Eubank Jr. on February 23, 2019. DeGale lost the fight via 12 round unanimous decision.
