Jersey Joe Walcott was a heavyweight boxer who fought professionally for over 22 years from 1930 until 1953. During his career, Walcott fought in a total of 71 fights with 51 wins, 18 losses, 2 draws, and 0 no-contests. Out of his 51 wins, 32 of them were by knockout.

Walcott's first professional fight was against Eddie Wallace in 1930 at the age of 16. After defeating Wallace by 1st round knockout, Walcott went on to win his next five fights in a row, with all five wins coming by way of stoppage.

Walcott had his first world title fight in 1947, at the age of 33, against Joe Louis for the NBA, NYSAC, and The Ring heavyweight titles. Although he put forth an impressive performance, Walcott lost to Louis via a 15 round split decision. Walcott went on to win three world titles throughout his career, one in the heavyweight division. His most notable victory was when he won the NBA, NYSAC, and The Ring heavyweight titles from Ezzard Charles in 1951 with a 7th round KO victory

Throughout his career, Walcott had a total of 18 losses. Six of those were in title bouts, while the other 12 were in non-title bouts. His first professional loss came in 1933 against Henry Taylor via a 6 round points decision. He also faced six defeats via knockout throughout his career.

Walcott had some notable highlights throughout his career. In his first world-title fight in 1947, he lost to Joe Louis, but the fight was a testament to his skills as he put on a great performance, and it was very close. He also fought Joe Louis on two additional occasions, both for the heavyweight titles, but lost both times. Walcott's greatest career highlight was when he won the NBA, NYSAC, and The Ring heavyweight titles from Ezzard Charles in 1951 with a 7th round KO victory. The win made him the oldest man to win the heavyweight title at 37 years old.

Walcott retired from professional boxing after losing his fight against Rocky Marciano in 1953 via a 1st round KO. Walcott ended his career with a record of 51-18-2, and he was inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame in 1990.

Despite his losses, Jersey Joe Walcott is considered one of the best boxers of his time. He fought against some of the greatest fighters of his era— including Joe Louis, Ezzard Charles, Harold Johnson, Joey Maxim, and Jimmy Bivins— and won several titles. He had a long and successful career as a boxer and proved himself to be a formidable competitor in the ring.
