John Conteh is a British former professional boxer who was born on May 27, 1951. His professional boxing career spanned over eight years, from 1971 to 1980. Conteh fought a total of 39 times during his professional career and won 34 of those fights. He lost four fights and drew one fight, with no no-contests.
Conteh had 24 knockout wins to his name, which is a testament to his strong punch. He won one world title at light-heavyweight and had three successful title defenses. Two of his world title fight wins came via knockout.
