Jonathan González, a native of Caguas, Puerto Rico, started his professional boxing career on April 1, 2011. At the age of 19, he defeated Jonathan Gonzalez in his debut via a 1st round TKO. González quickly climbed the ranks with 10 consecutive wins, including 9 stoppages.

Throughout his career, González has fought a total of 32 times, winning 27 fights, losing 3, drawing once, and having one no-contest. Out of his 27 wins, he has won 14 by way of knockout.

González has won one world title at the light-flyweight, which he won after defeating Japanese fighter, Kimura Go on March 30, 2019, in a unanimous decision. However, his first world title defense didn't go as planned, and he lost the title during a match against Kosei Tanaka on August 24, 2019, in the 7th round TKO.

In the ring, González has been involved in a total of three contests where he emerged as the loser via knockout. The first time he lost was against Giovani Segura on August 17, 2013, in a match where Segura knocked him out in the 4th round, ending his 13-fight win streak. Gonzalez's two other losses also ended in knockout, although one of them happened during a title bout.

For González, his most significant fights involve wins over Erickson Martell, Elwin Soto, Shokichi Iwata, Mark Anthony Barriga, Juan Alejo, Joseph Rios, and Saul Eduardo Hernandez. It's worth noting that most of these bouts resulted in stoppages, making González a devastating fighter.

In his most recent fight against Shokichi Iwata, which happened on November 1, 2022, González defended his WBO title in a light-flyweight title defense bout. He won the fight in a 12-round unanimous decision, cementing his place as one of the best fighters in the world. González is currently on a five-fight winning streak, and his professional record stands at 27-3-1.

Despite the setbacks, Jonathan González has cemented his place as one of the best light-flyweight boxers in the world. His fast and aggressive style, combined with his excellent punching power, makes him a formidable opponent in the ring. His five-fight winning streak is a testament to his toughness and determination, and he is undoubtedly a fighter to watch in the coming years.
