Ken Buchanan was born on June 28, 1945, in Edinburgh, Scotland. He was a retired professional boxer who became the former undisputed world lightweight champion. Buchanan's professional boxing career spanned for more than 16 years, starting from 1965-1982. He had a total of 69 fights, accumulating to 61 wins with 26 of them by knockout, eight losses, and zero draws or no-contests. Buchanan was known by his nickname "Fighting Carpenter" and his orthodox stance in the lightweight weight class.
