Marcel Cerdan is considered to be one of the greatest middleweight boxers of all time. During his professional career which spanned more than 14 years, he fought in a total of 114 bouts, winning 110, and losing only 4. He also managed to knock out his opponents 65 times. While he won two world titles during his career, unfortunately, he never had a chance to defend them.

One of Cerdan's most notable fights was against Tony Zale on September 21, 1948. This was his first world title fight, and he won the middleweight NBA and The Ring titles by defeating Zale via 11th round RTD. This win marked Cerdan's peak as a boxer and is considered by many to be the highlight of his career.

Cerdan's professional boxing debut took place on November 10, 1934, at the age of 18. He defeated Marcel Bucchianeri via 6 round PTS. This win was the beginning of an astonishing streak of 44 victories, including 17 wins via stoppage. Cerdan's winning streak ended on January 9, 1939, when he lost to Harry Craster via 5 round DQ.

Cerdan won his first world title at 32 years of age. His career was in full swing by that time, and he had already fought in over 100 professional fights. In his illustrious career, Marcel Cerdan fought and beat three Hall-of-Famers (Tony Zale, Holman Williams, and James Toney). He also defeated other notable opponents like Lucien Krawczyk, Jean Despeaux, Gaspard Deridder, Cyrille Delannoit, Lavern Roach, and Anton Raadik.

While Cerdan experienced a lot of success during his career, he was not invincible, and he suffered four losses along the way. He lost his first fight against Harry Craster, which ended his 44-fight win streak. He was stopped once and lost three times via decision. His last professional fight was a middleweight title defense bout against Jake LaMotta, which he lost via 9th round RTD, losing his NBA and The Ring titles.

Despite his losses, Marcel Cerdan is still widely respected within the boxing community. His career record speaks for itself, and his induction into the International Boxing Hall of Fame in 1991 cements his legacy as one of the greatest boxers of all time.
