Marco Huck is a retired professional boxer who had an illustrious career in the ring spanning over 15 years. He fought a total of 49 times, winning an impressive 42, losing 5, and drawing once, with one no-contest. Out of his 42 wins, he had 28 knockout victories. Huck had one major title win and successfully defended it 12 times. Additionally, he won six title fights via knockout and lost three through this method.

Huck made his professional debut in November 2004 at the age of 19, facing Pavel Cirok, whom he defeated via first-round TKO. He had an excellent start to his career, winning his next 18 fights, 13 of them by stoppage. In December 2007, he had his first major title fight against Steve Cunningham for the International Boxing Federation (IBF) title. Unfortunately, Huck lost the fight via a 12th round TKO.

The following year, on August 29, 2009, Huck won his first world title, the World Boxing Organization (WBO) cruiserweight title, defeating Victor Emilio Ramírez via 12 round unanimous decision. He then went on to defend his title five times from 2010 to 2014 against renowned boxers like Adam Richards, Brian Minto, Denis Lebedev, and Firat Arslan.

In 2014, Huck had to surrender his WBO cruiserweight title to Krzysztof Głowacki, marking his first loss since 2007. The loss did not deter Huck, as he continued to fight, though he ended up losing his next two title fights to Mairis Briedis in 2017 and Oleksandr Usyk in 2018.

Despite the setbacks, Huck's resilience and hard work continued to shine through, as seen in his last professional fight against Dennis Lewandowski in August 2020, which he won via a 10 round unanimous decision.

Career Highlights

Out of the 49 fights Huck had in his career, six of them stand out as his career highlights.

On December 29, 2007, Huck took on Steve Cunningham for his first world title fight. Although Huck put up an excellent fight, he eventually lost by a 12th round TKO, marking his first career loss.

Two years later, on August 29, 2009, Huck won his first WBO cruiserweight title, defeating Victor Emilio Ramírez via a 12 round unanimous decision. He then went on to defend his title several times against some of the best boxers in the business.

In 2010, Huck successfully defended his WBO cruiserweight title by knocking out Adam Richards in the third round on March 13. A few months later, he defended it again, walking away with a ninth-round RTD win against Brian Minto on May 1.

In December of the same year, Huck put up an impressive display of resilience and technique, winning against Denis Lebedev by a 12 round split-decision. In January 2014, he successfully defended his cruiserweight title again after defeating Firat Arslan via a sixth-round TKO.

Huck's career, unfortunately, saw its ups and downs. Although he had some excellent career highlights, he also had to endure losses – five in total. However, he remained determined, making his last professional fight in August 2020, which he won against Dennis Lewandowski via a 10 round unanimous decision.
