Miguel Berchelt, a Mexican professional boxer, has fought 41 times in his career so far. With a record of 38 wins, including 34 KO wins, and three losses, Berchelt has a long-standing career in the ring. He began his professional career at the age of 19, and after 20 consecutive wins, attained his first world title fight. Despite challenging losses, Berchelt remains a strong fighter with several successful wins and title defenses under his belt.
Berchelt's winning streak was cut short by a defeat in his 21st fight against Luis Eduardo Florez via 1st round TKO on March 15, 2014. Since then, Berchelt has suffered two more defeats, both by stoppage. Nevertheless, Berchelt has had many notable victories that have defined his boxing career. For instance, his first world title win on January 28, 2017, against Francisco Vargas, was a significant achievement that positioned Berchelt as the super-featherweight world champion. Berchelt won their matchup in the 11th round by KO.
In his career so far, Berchelt has won one world title at super-featherweight, which he has successfully defended six times. He won his second title defense against Takashi Miura in July 2017 by unanimous decision in 12 rounds. Two title defenses later, in May 2019, Berchelt defeated Francisco Vargas a second time via 6th round RTD.
Some of Berchelt's most remarkable victories include his first fight against Chonlatarn Piriyapinyo that he won in July 2016 via 4th round KO. Berchelt put on a career-defining performance in this fight. He also defeated Eleazer Valenzuela via 2nd round TKO in October 2017.
Berchelt has fought in several notable fights, including one that ended controversially. Berchelt's 2019 fight against Miguel "Mickey" Roman was a highly anticipated matchup that resulted in Berchelt's victory via 9th round KO. However, the referee's decision to end the fight raised concerns among fans concerning the legitimacy of the outcome. Nevertheless, Berchelt's performance in the fight was remarkable, and his victory is still regarded as a significant milestone in his career.
In March 2022, Berchelt faced off against Namibian boxer Jeremiah Nakathila in a non-title bout. However, the bout did not go as Berchelt, or his fans, had hoped, and Berchelt lost the fight via 6th round RTD. Berchelt's recent two-fight losing streak is a clear indication that he may be past his prime. Still, Berchelt remains a force to be reckoned with in the super-featherweight division.
Miguel Berchelt's career has been a remarkable one, filled with both successful wins and challenging losses. As he continues to fight, his fans remain steadfast in their support for him, as they hope to see him become world champion once again.
