South African boxer Moruti Mthalane is considered one of the greatest flyweight boxers of all time. Born on October 6, 1982, Mthalane has a professional boxing record of 39 wins, 3 losses, and 0 draws. He is a two-time IBF flyweight champion and also held the IBO flyweight title from 2014 to 2017.

Mthalane made his professional boxing debut against Wiseman Mnguni on December 10, 2000, at the age of 18, knocking him out in the 3rd round. He went on to win 13 consecutive fights, including 7 by knockout in the following years.

In his first world-title fight, Mthalane fought Nonito Donaire for the IBF title on November 1, 2008. He lost to Donaire via 6th round TKO. However, Mthalane bounced back and won the IBF flyweight title from Julio César Miranda on November 20, 2009, by beating Miranda via a 12 round unanimous decision. He then successfully defended the IBF flyweight title against Zolani Tete on September 1, 2010, winning the fight via 5th round TKO, and again against Johnriel Casimero on March 26, 2011, winning the fight via 5th round TKO.

Mthalane continued his winning streak and successfully defended the IBF flyweight title against many challengers, including Ricardo Núñez, Andrea Sarritzu, and Muhammad Waseem. He faced his biggest challenge in Yuniel Dorticos, but managed to keep his cool and win the title through a unanimous decision victory on July 22, 2021.

Known for his excellent ring IQ, Moruti Mthalane is considered a master boxer with a solid defense, quick and precise punches, and the ability to adapt to the styles of his opponents. He is known to use his jabs to set up his powerful hooks, making him a difficult opponent to predict.

Mthalane is a fighter with a lot of heart and determination, never giving up during fights and always leaving everything in the ring. He has a knockout percentage of 62% and has fought some of the best in the sport, including Akira Yaegashi, Lehlohonolo Ramagole, and Isaac Quaye.

Despite his impressive record and achievements, Mthalane has had his share of setbacks in his career. He suffered his first loss against Nkqubela Gwazela via 10th round TKO on September 24, 2004, which ended his 14-fight win streak.

Mthalane's most recent fight was a flyweight title defense bout against English boxer Sunny Edwards on April 30, 2021. Mthalane lost the fight via a 12 round unanimous decision and lost his IBF title.

Standing at 5 ft 3+1⁄2 in (161 cm), with a reach of 66+1⁄2 in (169 cm), and an orthodox stance, Mthalane is a small fighter but more than makes up for it with his impressive skills and ring IQ.

With his impressive boxing skills and dedication to the sport, Moruti Mthalane has proven to be a force to be reckoned with in the flyweight division. He is a true inspiration to young boxers all over the world and will go down in history as one of the greatest boxers of all time.
