Orlando Canizales, born on November 25, 1965, is a retired American professional boxer who has competed in the bantamweight, super bantamweight, and featherweight divisions. During his professional career that lasted for over 15 years from 1984 to 1999, Canizales fought in 57 matches and held the IBF bantamweight title from July 1988 to December 1994.
Canizales won his pro debut, defeating Juan Perez via 2nd round TKO when he was just 18 years of age. He had his first world title fight at the age of 22-years old after 21 pro fights, against Kelvin Seabrooks for the bantamweight IBF title, which he won via a 15th-round TKO to become the bantamweight champion of the world.
Canizales has had 50 wins, with 37 of those coming from KO victories. He has also had five losses and one draw with no losses via KO. The American boxer has won one world title at bantamweight, with a total of 15 title defenses. In his career, he has won several notable victories over fighters such as Jimmy Navarro, Eddie Rangel, Gerardo Martinez, Rolando Bohol, and Julio Cesar Portillo. Canizales never got stopped during his career, and his last fight was against Frank Toledo, where he lost via a 10-round split decision.

He continued his streak on August 14 of the same year by successfully defending his title against Eddie Rangel with a 5th round KO. February 26, 1994, saw Canizales successfully defend his IBF bantamweight title against Gerardo Martinez, winning the fight via a 4th round TKO. In his last successful title defense on June 7, 1994, he defeated Rolando Bohol via a 5th round KO.
Canizales also lost five bouts during his professional career, with four of them being non-title fights. He suffered his first defeat to Paul Gonzales via a 12 round unanimous decision on July 20, 1986, which ended his 11 fight win streak. However, he has never been stopped in any of his professional fights during his boxing career.
