Ruslan Provodnikov, a former professional boxer, was born on January 20, 1984, in Beryozovo, Russia.  He began his professional boxing career on December 3, 2006, at the age of 22, defeating Kirill Artemiev via 4 round unanimous decision.  Over the span of his professional career, which lasted from 2006 to 2016, he fought a total of 30 times, winning 25 (18 of which were KO wins), losing 5, and drawing 0

Provodnikov made a name for himself through his aggressive, come-forward style of boxing.  He had a relentless pressure, constantly marching forward and forcing his opponents to engage.  This style of fighting made him a fan favorite and earned him the nickname "The Siberian Rocky."

His first opportunity for a world title fight came on March 16, 2013, against Timothy Bradley for the WBO Welterweight title.  Bradley won the fight via 12 round unanimous decision, but Provodnikov proved to be a tough opponent, with his relentless pressure and heavy-handed shots.

Provodnikov's first world title came on October 19, 2013, when he faced Mike Alvarado for the WBO super-lightweight title.  Provodnikov won the fight via 10th round RTD, in a brutal, action-packed bout that saw both fighters trading heavy shots.

One of Provodnikov's most notable victories came on November 28, 2014, when he faced José Luis Castillo.  Provodnikov won the fight via 5th round TKO, in a dominant performance that showcased his power and aggression.

Throughout his career, Provodnikov suffered five losses, but he has never been stopped, with all of his losses coming via decision.  His first loss came on January 7, 2011, against Mauricio Herrera, which ended his 17-fight win streak.

Provodnikov's last professional fight was on June 11, 2016, against John Molina Jr.  He lost the fight via 12 round unanimous decision, which led to his retirement from professional boxing.
