Thomas Tate, born on December 19, 1965 in Detroit, Michigan, is a former American boxer who has amassed an impressive record throughout his professional career. Over 13 years, from 1989 to 2002, he fought a total of 48 fights, winning 41 fights, having 7 losses, and no draws or no-contest. With 28 KO wins under his belt, Tate has proven himself as a worthy opponent in the ring.
Tate started his professional boxing career in 1989 at the age of 23, against Maurice Daugherty, whom he defeated via 3rd round TKO. He went on to win an impressive 21 more consecutive fights, 17 of them ending in stoppage. UFC's Thomas Tate had his first world title fight at the age of 26 in 1992 against Julian Jackson for the WBC title. Alas, he didn't win the fight, giving Jackson the win by unanimous decision over the course of 12 rounds.
Throughout his career, Tate faced many opponents and fought in many bouts, including title fights, losses and wins. He suffered his first loss against Percy Harris via 12 round PTS on December 4, 1991, ending his 22-fight win streak. He lost six times via decision and was stopped once.
