Tony Lopez was a professional boxer who had an illustrious career spanning over 15 years from 1983 to 1999. During his time in the ring, he fought in a total of 59 fights with a remarkable record of 50 victories, 8 losses, 1 draw and no-contests. His knock-out record was an impressive 34. Lopez won three world titles across two different weight classes during his career and had six successful title defenses.

Lopez began his professional boxing career in May 1983 against Juan Rodriguez. He won the fight via first-round TKO. The win marked the beginning of an impressive 26-fight winning streak before he suffered his first loss to Ramon Rico via 7 round DQ on September 1, 1987.

Despite his first professional loss, Lopez immediately bounced back, winning eight straight fights, six of them via knockouts. This included a title-winning effort in July 1988, when he defeated Rocky Lockridge via unanimous decision to become the IBF super-featherweight champion of the world. The victory was the highlight of his career and marked the beginning of his dominance of his weight class.

Lopez defended his IBF super-featherweight title against Lockridge in 1989 via a 12-round unanimous decision. He then took on and defeated John John Molina in 1990 via a 12-round split decision to win the IBF super-featherweight title for the second time. He followed that up with another successful title defense later that same year against Jorge Paez via unanimous decision in a 12-round fight.

Despite his impressive title defense numbers, Lopez lost four title fights during his career, suffering his first loss in a title bout against John Montes via unanimous decision on December 7, 1991. He lost his second title fight against Brian Mitchell in August 1992, which was also a unanimous decision. His third loss in a title fight was against Rafael Ruelas, who stopped Lopez in the 10th round of their fight on May 15, 1993. His last loss in a title fight was against Jesse James Leija in February 1995, where he lost by a unanimous decision.

Overall, Lopez won three world titles across two weight classes. He had a total of eight losses - four of which were in title fights and four in non-title bouts. His last professional fight was a non-title bout against Hector Quiroz in February 1999, in which he lost via first-round TKO. Following this loss, Tony Lopez retired from professional boxing with a remarkable record of 50-8-1.

Throughout his career, Lopez was known for his impressive knock-out record. Of his 50 victories, 34 of them came by way of knockout. He was also recognized for his ability to withstand punishment from his opponents and deliver a response quickly.

While there were several notable fights in his career, some of his most impressive victories were against respected opponents such as Rocky Lockridge, John John Molina, Jorge Paez, Dingaan Thobela, Greg Haugen, and Tony Pep.

Lopez will forever be remembered as one of the most accomplished boxers of his time. His remarkable record of title defenses and knockout victories is a testament to his incredible skill, determination, and hard work.
