David Tua is one of the most successful heavyweight boxers from New Zealand. He had a long and illustrious career that spanned more than two decades, from 1992 to 2013. During his career, Tua fought a total of 59 times, winning 52, losing 5, drawing twice, and having no-no contests.

From the outset of his career, Tua showed that he was a heavyweight with enormous power. He made his debut on December 1st, 1992, when he was just 20 years old, against Ron Humes. He won the fight via a first-round knockout. After his debut, Tua went on an impressive winning streak, winning 26 more consecutive fights. During this impressive winning streak, Tua had 22 wins via stoppage.

Tua's first world title fight came at the age of 27, on November 11, 2000, after 38 professional fights. He fought against Lennox Lewis for the WBC and IBF titles but lost via a 12 round unanimous decision. Tua suffered a total of five losses in his career, one of them being in a title bout and four in non-title bouts. Ike Ibeabuchi handed Tua his first loss via a 12 round unanimous decision on June 7th, 1997, ending his 27-fight win streak. All of Tua's losses came via decision, and he has never been stopped.

One of Tua's career highlights came on March 15th, 1996, when he defeated John Ruiz via a first-round knockout. This victory set the tone for the rest of his professional career. Another highlight of his career was on August 17th, 2002, when he defeated Michael Moorer via a first-round knockout. However, one of his most impressive career highlights was on October 3rd, 2009, when he beat Shane Cameron via a second-round TKO.

Tua fought some of the most famous names in the heavyweight division during his career like Hasim Rahman, Michael Moorer, and Lennox Lewis. Even though he never managed to win a world title, Tua was a force to be reckoned with throughout his career

David Tua was born on November 21st, 1972, in Apia, Samoa. He started boxing at a young age and went on to represent New Zealand in the 1992 Barcelona Olympic Games, winning a bronze medal in the heavyweight division.

After the 1992 Olympics, Tua turned professional, quickly becoming a fan favorite due to his fighting style and punching power. Tua was known for his left hook, which he used to devastating effect throughout his career. His aggressive style made him one of the most exciting heavyweights of his era.

Tua's fighting style made him a popular figure among boxing fans, but it also led to some criticism from his detractors. Some accused him of being one-dimensional, relying too much on his left hook to get the job done. However, Tua's record speaks for itself. He won 43 fights via knockout, demonstrating that his left hook was more than enough to take out some of the best heavyweights of his era.

During his career, Tua fought some of the best heavyweights of his generation, including Lennox Lewis, Hasim Rahman, and Chris Byrd. Despite his impressive record, he never won a world title.

In 2009, Tua attempted to make one final run at a world title. He went on a three-fight winning streak, but his hopes were dashed when he lost to Monte Barrett via a unanimous decision. This loss effectively ended his career, although he continued to fight for another four years.

Tua's legacy is secure thanks to his impressive record and memorable performances. Despite never winning a world title, he was one of the most feared heavyweights of his era, and his name will be remembered for years to come.
