Brian Castaño is a world-famous Argentine boxer who has accomplished great things in his career so far. With a total of 20 fights under his belt, Castaño has won 17 of them, drawn 2, and lost just one. These statistics alone are a testament to his skill and endurance as a professional boxer.
At the age of 23, Castaño made his professional boxing debut against Alejandro Antonio Dominguez and won via a 4th round TKO. From there, he went on to win 14 more consecutive fights, 10 of which were through stoppages. Impressive, to say the least.
In 2018, Castaño achieved one of his biggest milestones by securing his first world title in the super-welterweight division. He was elevated to the WBA (Regular) world champion after just 14 professional fights. His first title defense was against Cédric Vitu, which he won via a 12th round TKO.
Castaño has fought some of the best fighters in the world and has come out victorious in many of those bouts. Some of his notable victories include wins over Patrick Teixeira, Michel Soro, Wale Omotoso, Emmanuel de Jesús, Todd Manuel, and Marcus Upshaw. His victory over Teixeira in February 2021 saw him winning the WBO super-welterweight title via a 12 round unanimous decision.
However, Castaño's career hasn't been entirely unblemished. He has one loss in his professional boxing career, which came in May 2022 against Jermell Charlo via a 10th round KO. Charlo is the only boxer to beat Castaño. At present, Castaño's professional boxing record stands at 17-1-2, which includes 12 knockout wins and one knockout loss and one title win.
Despite this one defeat, Castaño remains one of the most respected boxers in the world. He is known for his unique style and his ability to win fights through sheer grit and determination. His recent showdown against Charlo was one that garnered a lot of attention and showed that Castaño is still a top-level fighter.
Overall, Brian Castaño has achieved a lot in his relatively short career so far. His determination and skill have helped him establish himself as a formidable boxer in the super-welterweight division. With many more fights ahead of him, it will be exciting to see what further accomplishments Castaño will achieve.
