If you're a boxing enthusiast, you may have heard of Miguel Román, a professional Mexican boxer with 20 years of experience.
Román had a total of 10 fights, of which he won 8, lost 2, drew 0, and had no no-contests. His KO wins stood at an impressive 6, with no title wins or title-fight KO wins. Although he never won a world championship, he still had some remarkable victories over Orlando Salido, Aristides Pérez, Tomás Rojas, Nery Saguilán, Ramiro Blanco, Michel Marcano, and Jerope Mercado.
Román started his professional boxing career in April 2016, at the age of 30, against Juli Giner, whom he defeated via an 8th round TKO. His last professional bout was on September 7, 2019, when he won a non-title fight against fellow Mexican boxer Tomás Rojas via 12-round unanimous decision.
One of the most significant fights of his career was against the WBC Super Featherweight champion, Miguel Berchelt. He had the opportunity to compete for the world championship at the age of 32, after only seven professional fights. Unfortunately, he lost via a 9th round TKO.
The first loss he suffered in his career was against Takashi Miura, whom he faced on January 28, 2017, and lost via a 12th round KO. Both of Román's losses came via stoppage, but he never gave up fighting until the final bell. His boxing career spanned more than three years, from 2016 to 2019, before he retired with a record of 8-2, including six knockout wins.
It's impressive that Román managed to accomplish so much in such a short period. Even though he never won a world championship, he still had notable victories and fierce battles that kept his fans on the edge of their seats.
That's why his retirement marked the end of an era in professional boxing. Román may have retired, but his legacy will continue to inspire upcoming and established boxers for years to come.
Congratulations to Román for having an outstanding boxing career, and we wish him all the best in his future endeavors.
