Shawn Porter

Shawn Porter is a welterweight professional boxer with over 20 years of experience in the ring. Throughout his career, he has fought a total of 36 times, winning 31 bouts, losing four, and drawing once. Porter boasts 17 knockout wins and two total title wins at welterweight.

Porter began his professional boxing career in 2008, winning his debut against Norman Johnson via first-round TKO at the age of 20. He went on to win 19 consecutive fights, 13 of which came via stoppage, before suffering his first loss at the hands of Kell Brook in a 12 round majority decision.

Despite the setback, Porter persevered and went on to secure his first world title on December 7, 2013, when he defeated Devon Alexander via 12 round unanimous decision to become the welterweight IBF champion. He successfully defended his title against Paulie Malignaggi via fourth-round TKO on April 19, 2014, before going on to rack up notable victories over Adrien Broner, Andre Berto, and Danny García.

On September 8, 2018, Porter won the WBC welterweight title from Danny García, defeated him via 12 round unanimous decision. He would go on to win a total of two world titles at welterweight, successfully defending one of them twice.

Despite his impressive track record, Porter has suffered four losses in his professional career so far, all of which were in title bouts. Of the four defeats, he has been stopped once and lost three times via decision.

Porter's most recent fight took place on November 20, 2021, against fellow American Terence Crawford for Crawford's welterweight WBO title. Porter was defeated in the 10th round via TKO.
