Steve Cruz is a former professional boxer who left an indelible mark in the sport during his active years. With a professional career spanning over 12 years, Cruz competed in a total of 45 fights, emerging victorious in 37 of them. He had eight losses, with no draws or no-contests. His impressive record includes 19 knockout wins, and two World Title wins against some of the biggest names in the sport.
Cruz made his debut at just 17 years of age, defeating Pascual Aranda in the first round via TKO. He went on to win 18 consecutive fights, with nine of them coming via stoppage. Cruz fought his first Title Fight on June 23, 1986, at the age of 22, against Barry McGuigan, for the featherweight WBA and The Ring titles. On December 18, 1993, Cruz fought his last fight, a non-Title bout against Roberto Chala. Cruz secured another victory in the fight, winning via a 10-round unanimous decision.
