Gene Fullmer was an American professional boxer who made his professional debut on August 25, 1951, against Buddy Sloan. The fight resulted in Fullmer winning via 2nd round KO, which set the tone for his impressive career.

Fullmer went on to win 20 more consecutive fights after his debut, with nine of those wins coming by way of stoppage. He was regarded as one of the best boxers of his generation and is remembered for his great performances in the ring.
