Nonito Donaire, a Filipino-American boxer with over two decades of experience, has completed 49 fights throughout his career, ultimately achieving a record of 42-7 with 28 knockout victories under his belt. Donaire's career took off on February 22, 2001, when he competed in his first professional boxing match against Jose Lazaro. Donaire defeated Lazaro with a first-round knockout. After 18 fights, he had his first world title bout on July 7, 2007.

At the age of 24, Donaire fought Vic Darchinyan for the flyweight IBF title, earning himself the flyweight championship title in the fifth round via TKO. Donaire went on to become a two-time unified world champion, with his first unified title victory occurring on February 19, 2011.

He kept competing and went on to win the WBC bantamweight title in May 2021, defeating Nordine Oubaali with a fourth-round knockout.

After his WBC title defense against Gaballo, Donaire entered the ring on June 7, 2022, in a bantamweight unification bout against Naoya Inoue. The bout happened in Kasukabe, Saitama, Japan. Inoue dealt him a knockout blow in the second round, taking away Donaire's WBC title from him.

Throughout his career, Donaire has had a total of seven losses, with two being losses via knockout. One of his significant losses was against Rosendo Sanchez, his first-ever 5 round unanimous decision, on March 10, 2001.
